Background replacement, no green screen
A matting model separates you from the room on every frame. A plain wall and ordinary indoor light are enough. Swap in a still image, a video loop, or a built-in scene without stopping the broadcast.
Mobile green screen · Windows virtual camera
Mintcast replaces the background behind you while your phone camera is live, casts that phone to a PC as a virtual webcam, and pushes the result to the platforms you already stream on. No green cloth, no capture card, no second computer.
Tap a preset to swap the background behind the subject in real time — the same scene switcher that runs in the app.
What it does
Mintcast is a live streaming tool for people who shoot vertical video on a phone. Everything below runs in the phone app and the Windows companion app. There is nothing to configure on the platform side.
A matting model separates you from the room on every frame. A plain wall and ordinary indoor light are enough. Swap in a still image, a video loop, or a built-in scene without stopping the broadcast.
Pair the phone over USB or Wi-Fi. The desktop app publishes it as a camera device, so OBS, Zoom, Meet, Teams and TikTok LIVE Studio pick it up like any other webcam. No plug-ins.
Stack a background, your cutout, a logo and a text band. Move and resize each layer on the phone with your finger. 2D and 3D effect layers are both supported.
Pair more than one phone on the same network and cut between angles with a tap while you are live. Put one device on your face and another on the desk or the product.
Add more than one RTMP destination in the desktop app. The stream is encoded once and sent to each one, so the laptop does not have to carry three separate encodes.
Switch scenes, mute the microphone, change the background or trigger an effect from the phone while the stream keeps running. Useful when the PC is across the room.
Destinations
Two routes out: the desktop app pushes RTMP straight to a platform, or it exposes a virtual camera for any desktop app that records one. These are the destinations supported in the current build.
Platform availability changes with each platform's own rules. Product names and logos belong to their owners; Mintcast is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
How it works
Set up the phone app and the Windows app, then sign in to the same account on each. The free plan needs no card.
Plug in a USB cable, or join the same Wi-Fi network and scan the code the desktop app shows. The phone appears as a camera within a few seconds.
Choose a background, add your destinations, start the stream. Backgrounds and layers stay editable from the phone while the stream runs.
Requirements
| Apps | Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) · Android 8.0 or newer · iOS 15.0 or newer |
|---|---|
| Hardware | A phone with a working rear or front camera and a PC on the same network. A USB cable gives the lowest delay; Wi-Fi works without one. |
| Output | Vertical 1080 × 1920 by default. Frame rate is 30 or 60 fps depending on the phone and on what the destination accepts. |
| Streaming | RTMP / RTMPS to one or more destinations, or a virtual camera for desktop apps such as OBS, Zoom and Teams. |
| Processing | Matting, beauty and effects run on the phone. The camera feed is not uploaded to our servers; it travels from the phone to your PC over your local network. |
| Account | An email address and a password. Nothing else is required to sign up. |

Questions
No. The matting runs on the phone and separates you from whatever is behind you, so a plain wall works. Results are better with even front lighting and a background that does not have a lot of movement in it. A physical green screen is still the most reliable option if you have one, and Mintcast works with that too.
Android 8.0 and newer, iOS 15.0 and newer, and Windows 10 or 11 on 64-bit. There is no macOS build at the moment. The PC is only needed for screen casting, the virtual camera and multi-destination streaming; the phone app runs on its own for single-destination streams.
No. Matting, beauty and effects are computed on the phone. The video goes from the phone to your PC over your own local network, then out to the platform you chose. We do not receive, record or store your camera feed. The privacy policy lists exactly what we do collect, which is mostly account and diagnostic data.
Yes, on the paid plans. You add each RTMP destination in the desktop app and it encodes the stream once before sending it to each of them. The free plan is limited to one destination.
You can pair more than one phone to the same desktop app and switch between them during a stream. All devices have to be on the same local network, or connected by cable.
It does not run out. The free plan has no time limit; it is limited in features instead. If you never upgrade, nothing is charged and nothing expires.
Every Creem receipt email contains a link to the customer portal, where you can cancel the renewal yourself. You can also email support@mintcast.io from the address on the account and we will cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next charge; access continues to the end of the paid period.
Yes, within 14 days of your first purchase, provided the paid features have not been used heavily. Renewals and later charges are not refundable except where the law requires it or the software did not work at all. The exact conditions, and how to ask, are in the refund policy.
Email support@mintcast.io from the address you signed up with. We confirm within one business day, keep the account inactive for 30 days in case you change your mind, then delete the account and its data. Records that tax law requires us to keep are retained separately and are not used for anything else.
The standard plans are for one person. If you are streaming for a company, a studio or a team of presenters, write to us and we will set up the right licence instead of you buying several personal plans.
